Why we call ourselves "NorthStar"
How we got started
The original members of NorthStar were Sharan Boelter, Regan Scherencel, Annette Bowyer and Jim Herr. All four were members of the Cleburne First Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cleburne, Texas. Annette and Regan had been singing duets for years while all four of them were part of a praise team at the church. In the spring of 2006 Regan decided to start a quartet and asked three of the praise team members to join him and the NorthStar Quartet was born.
In February of 2007 Regan was called to be a pastor of three Seventh-day Adventist churches in Wyoming. Regan's reason for starting the quartet and his goal in life is to lead other's to Jesus Christ so he accepted the pastoral position and moved there the first week of May.
Regan's new location in Wyoming left a vacancy in the quartet. Aaron Moses had been attending the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist church for about 18 months and expressed an interest in singing with the group so was invited to tryout with them one Friday evening before Regan had moved. That evening it was found out that one of the members had a family emergency and was not going to be able to sing for a special music engagement the next morning so Aaron was drafted to fill in and has filled the Tenor spot in the quartet since then.
